Every day in hospitals across the country, NHS patients are being treated – or forced to wait for treatment – in corridors, waiting rooms, queuing ambulances or even store cupboards.
Action details: Wednesday 25 February 2026:
- 10am: NHS staff and activists gather outside St Thomas Hospital
- 10:30am: Walk over with ‘corridor care’ props from the hospital to Parliament Square (capturing video content as we go)
- 11am: MPs and press join at Parliament Square (west side paved area near Gandhi statue) for photo op, briefings handed out
- 11:30am: Wrap up
The SOS NHS coalition is raising the alarm on this crisis, and demanding that the government delivers the lifesaving investment needed to end corridor care once and for all.

There is a deep crisis in the NHS. Hospitals are crumbling, waiting lists are millions long, and more services are being outsourced with NHS staff overworked and underpaid.
The government has committed to leaning on the private healthcare sector. This will not save the NHS, which desperately needs funding, not privatising.
The SOS NHS Coalition is formed of over 50 organisations with the common aim of saving the NHS.
Our core demands are simple: emergency funding for the NHS; fully public, free, healthcare, guaranteed for future generations; for NHS staff to be paid properly and an end to the oursourcing of NHS services.

NHS 75
ANNIVERSARY EVENT CALENDAR
July 5th is the 75th birthday of our NHS, sadly it is not a time to celebrate.
Our healthcare service was once ranked the best in the world, but since 2015 it has fallen to 10th place globally and is falling fast. We are now faced with hundreds of preventable and avoidable deaths happening every week. A major staffing crisis with over 132,000 staffing vacancies, and over 7 million on waiting lists. No wonder staff are either leaving their professions or striking to save their pay and conditions and to stand up for the NHS itself.
We need a fully public NHS – because this is how we protect the pay, conditions and it’s also how we protect it for patients too. It’s the only way the NHS will survive. This isn’t time to ‘reform or retreat’ , it’s time to return to founding principles.
However, it is vital we mark the 75th Anniversary and use the spotlight under which the NHS will fall this year to make our demands and organise to save our NHS. Below are just some of the NHS Anniversary events happening up and down the country this July.
